Troop 607 is a Boy Scout Troop based in Northeast Phoenix, Arizona.
We’re a troop that emphasizes boy leadership, with boy-led patrols and a boy Senior Patrol Leader. We go on outings once a month, including tailgating, backpacking, canoeing, and Summer Camp. Additionally, we participate in the high adventure outings offered by the BSA – Philmont, Sea Base, & Northern Tier.
We host meetings once a week on Monday evenings. We have a great partnership with the Phoenix Elks Lodge. Scouts participate in a variety of service projects including renovating and/or cleaning up public and church buildings, cleaning up trails and other outdoor activity areas, participating in eagle service projects, and cleaning, cooking, bussing, and waiting at Elk Lodge Dinners.
Our boys are encouraged to achieve higher ranks and eventually Eagle, and younger boys are given sessions with leaders to work on rank requirements. Merit Badges are taught at Troop meetings, while boys canĀ achieve them on their own too.
Parents are not required to attend meetings or outings. After scouts achieve the rank of Second Class, the merit badges and rank requirements they do and the pace in which they do themĀ is completely up to them.
